Isn't it amazing how different the story looks from the 'other' car. I can see now that you didn't have anywhere to go other than the inside!!

Bravo for post-race video analysis!

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Pete

PS - Simon, nice to see the LuckyP graphics taking the limelight!! Excellent!!

That certainly sounded and felt like a BIG impact! Good luck with getting the car repaired.

Oh dear  Ouch!

What did you hit John? Is there much damage?

Thanks Gents,
Unbelievably, the car has already been pulled straight and I may be picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Also, even after watching the video from race 1 and 2, Russ at the bodyshop (a fellow racer) is still keen for me to have a go in his new kit-based racer later in the season! Russ did also ask for Team LuckyP invoicing details for the work on both front wings...

Pete, thanks for your comments - I really appreciate them I really cringed when I saw your footage as my move really did look like a desperate lunge! I fully intended to pass on the right but you were earlier on the brakes than the previous lap.

Andrei, look out for the marshal's machine gun emplacement on the right at the top of the hill on previous laps. I went squarely into it. Apparently the marshal was waving his yellow flag right up until the impact.

Will upload race 1 at the weekend - it is a bit like a Simon Aris promotional video, so I guess he'll be unbearable!

Cheers JOHN #77

Hey, good news! I thought you might have collected the car in front that caused you to spin in the first place...

I bet that marshall was waving his (yellow) underpants for the rest of the race to dry them out

Happy to report that car is now back home and looking pretty good. Rear end pulled out, rust patched on sill. Both front wings straightened out after my *tangles with/victimisation by LuckyP racing team. (*delete as appropriate )

They even found time to cut out another couple of kilos of redundant webbing to compensate for all that additional body filler. 8)

Thanks again to Russ at Custom Body Repair. Russ may be driving my car at Snett if our races aren't miraculously rescheduled to the Sunday!

Glad to hear it John, thankfully a re-shell wasn't needed in the end then.

Thanks Rowland - I fear it would have been less of a re-shell and more of a re-think about whether I could complete the season. I think this is why they made special efforts to turn it around to quickly (yeah, yeah, nearly as fast as I did!) Thankfully Dave isn't scheduled to use the car until August to that took some pressure off - I guess that means I will have to be extra careful at Cadwell....

Cheers John

Dave, I should qualify: Extra careful to push harder and do a better job of qualifying... Hope this puts your mind at rest.
