More fuel problems!

Postby Coggi on Wed Mar 25, 2009 10:03 am

Fitted a new tank last night. Took the car down my local "Test Track" and it was fine and dandy but wouldnt rev past 6000 rpm....

Checked full throttle, which it has but it still wouldnt rev past 6000rpm.

Tried to get to work today but got half a mile down the road and it had major fuel starvation and would only just tick over.

Killed the car using the master switch, waited 10 seconds and it started and reved right up. Drove it home no problems (Half a mile...!) and parked it up.

Whats going on?! Using the same pump and sender as the origional tank, 15 liters of fuel in it....

Anyone had any problems with breathers? The two small ones of the back of the tank. Does it mater if they are on the wrong way round?

Help

Matt!

I cleaned out the breathers and evaporator thing, changed the fuel rail including pressure reg and lines... even changed the fuel filter.... its still flat.

Any ideas? I can squeeze the fuel feed pipe after the filter a bit with my fingers. Does this mean that it is low pressure?

I'd suggest checking your pump, its fittings and pickup filter. Ideally you need to put a fuel pressure gauge on your fuel rail and work back from there.
