Glad you agree about the grip. I was thinking it was just me!! Especially when Mark was getting 1.50s!
Yep. That was the last LuckyP outing.
I've throughly enjoyed the year. The people, the cars, the racing, the banter, Roque's excellent organisation and enthusiasm. From mid season, I've seen what it's like to have someone look after your car. Whether it was Rogue or an outfit like AW Tracksport, it made all the difference to enjoying the time in car more.
What I've enjoyed most, is identifying personal goals and targets throughout the season, be it a top 10 finish or homing in on certain individuals. I nearly always ended up on the grid around Matt and he became to me, a good yard stick/target to follow or be chased by. His pass on me at Cadwell (Park corner) was a real step change for me. After that, I tried to close down corners (safely) as best I could. John, you started to come into focus towards the end of the season, and after our tangle at Anglesey, you became my new 'challenge' (probably coz you scratched my painwork!!).
So why retire?
Well - here from my Profile:
"What do I want to get out of the year? Well, I want to learn how to drive a mid engined car with commitment through the bends and not tippy toe round like I normally do! If I can bring some learnings back into trackdays, then job done."
......errrm. Job done. Got enought photos to keep an army of grandkids happy, enough footage to make a very nice 2009 compilation vid and enough memories to keep me going for a good few years.
So, thanks for all your help all. Been a pleasure. I'd love to come to a few events next year to watch you all (the only racing I've seen was the last 3 laps at snett last outing

)
